Dr. Eskerod Presents Research for Working Professionals in Bangkok

Dr. Pernille Eskerod, Webster Vienna“Textbooks used to say that project success is to finish the project on time, within budget and with defined quality. This is no longer the case. Today focus is on creating benefits. The project should bring value to their initiators, their stakeholders, and maybe to the society. However, it is not easy, when planning the project, to see all possible opportunities.” These words introduced a presentation ‘Project Benefits Realization in the Flux of Changes’ by visiting professor Dr. Pernille Eskerod, Webster Vienna, and her research colleague, professor emeritus Erling S. Andersen, BI Norwegian Business School.

Dr. Pernille Eskerod, Webster ViennaThe presentation took place in Bangkok, 15 February 2017 at a monthly meeting within the global association Project Management Institute (PMI). Approximately 35 project management professionals attended the research-based lecture. Project benefits realization and the challenges project owners and project managers face in a changing world were discussed. An in-depth case study of a bridge in USA was used to illustrate some of the opportunities.

The lecture was very well received as noted by the organizers, and written feedback from the audience included statements like “Very interesting and refreshing presentation” and as “One of the best presentations we’ve had in quite some time”.
