Thailand is known around the world as ‘The Land of Smiles’, a reference to the warm, optimistic and hospitable nature of Thai people. Throughout his time in Thailand, Michael has also found his experiences with the local Thai population to be rich and rewarding. He noted that “Thailand may not be as commercialized as other countries or other Webster University locations but it makes up for it with an air of tranquility and friendliness not experienced anywhere else in the world.”

Michael Hilliard Over the course of his degree, Michael has come to appreciate the interactive, innovative and diverse learning opportunities on offer. An example of just one of the opportunities Michael has seized is his participation in Webster’s HIST 1010: The Politics of Street Art summer course. In addition to the fascinating content, Michael noted the benefit of small class sizes and the availability of the professors.

Webster University Thailand continues to strive to offer a welcoming and supportive environment academically, and also within all aspects of student life. We all hope that Michael finds the remainder of his degree just as fulfilling, and that he remains an active part of the university community.
