Webster University Thailand Fall 2016 Student OrientationWebster University Thailand Fall 2016 Student OrientationAs another academic semester commences, Webster University Thailand recently welcomed new students to Webster’s campuses in Hua Hin / Cha Am and Bangkok. As part of Webster University’s Orientation Day, students were given the chance to explore, ask questions, and familiarize themselves with their new academic home.

On the 17th August, students attending the Hua Hin / Cha Am campus were provided with a tour of the local area, allowing them to familiarize themselves with this tranquil seaside town. On Saturday the 20th of August, students enrolled to study at the Bangkok Academic Center were also able to learn more about their campus and discuss their expectations for their upcoming program of study. Similar to their fellow students in Hua Hin / Cha Am, they were also provided with an opportunity to embark on a day tour to explore their new city.

Webster University Thailand Fall 2016 Student OrientationThroughout their orientation, students heard from key figures within the university, many of whom have been affiliated with Webster University for many years. Dr. Keith E Welsh, Webster University Thailand’s Campus Director was on hand to welcome students in both locations and provided an overview of the opportunities, diversity, global perspectives and study abroad options that are available. This was followed by equally engaging talks from Dr. Nisha Ray Chaudhuri, Director of Academic Affairs and Phil Gwaltney, Director of Student Affairs, Chase Conrad, University Counselor and Sasiwan Kludkesa, Student Affairs Manager.

Webster University Thailand Fall 2016 Student OrientationThroughout the remainder of the day students attended a multitude of sessions aimed at providing them with the information and tools necessary to succeed in this new environment. Amongst others, presentation topics included; transitioning to university, student affairs information, student safety, and study abroad options. Ample time was also available for students to meet new friends, ask questions and discuss their programs of study.
