ASIAN BURSARY (Financial Aid)
What is the ASIAN bursary? Who is eligible?
Asian bursary is a financial aid provided by the University to partially reduce the effective tuition fee. The name Asian bursary does not mean that only Asians are eligible for this bursary, it also covers students from any continent who have done their high school in Asia.
Why is the Asian Bursary given?
Webster University Thailand is the only Webster campus in Asia offering undergraduate programs of Webster University and in order to attract the home market (Asia) the bursary is offered to all Asian students and students who have graduated in Asia. The bursary makes WUT more viable to students from the emerging economies in Asia.
How does this Asian Bursary work?
The Asian Bursary is worth Thai Baht 52,560 per semester which is deducted from the published tuition rate. This deduction is done automatically when the tuition invoice is issued to the student. The Asian Bursary is valid throughout the student´s undergraduate (bachelors) study at WUT. It is not transferable or usable in other campuses of Webster University.
When does the Asian Bursary start?
The Asian Bursary is given to the students from the very beginning. The letter of acceptance will indicate the Asian Bursary and the student pays the tuition fees accordingly. There is no need for additional application for the Asian Bursary. Our officers might ask for additional documents if they have any requirements (in case of dual citizenship, etc.)
Are students eligible for additional financial aid?
Students who get the Asian Bursary do not get additional financial aid at entry level. However all students are eligible for merit scholarships after at least one year of completion of their program. These scholarships are usually very few (as WUT is a private university) and only the top 3%-4% of the student population usually has scholarships.
I am not eligible for Asian Bursary, where should I look for financial aid?
If you are not eligible for Asian Bursary then please check our international diversity bursary section or the financial aid and scholarship section (Entry level).
