Due to expansion, we are looking for qualified candidates to fill positions in Cha-am and Bangkok campuses:


Head of Department, Arts and Sciences
(International Relations emphasis)

General Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Rector, Academic Director, and in cooperation with the Student Admissions Department and relevant administrative departments, you will ensure the effective management of an academic program.  You will be responsible for the recruitment and development of qualified faculty, the maintenance of curriculum consistent with Webster University standards as well as ensuring the quality of in class instruction.  You will also work with other Department Heads to promote a high level of standardization in policies, procedures and academic content across all programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Constructing course schedule in conjunction with the Academic Director/ Registrar for the academic year
    • Identifying necessary courses for department schedules and assigning appropriate faculty to teach.
    • Consulting and coordinating with registrar on overload and independent study courses dependent on the academic director/ Rector´s approval.
  • Maintaining a two-year course schedule so students, prospective students, and faculty know how to plan their programs accordingly.
  • Developing departmental student advising
  • Maintaining and implementing all academic policies of the university (e.g. student grade appeals, academic probation, dismissal, plagiarism, etc.)
  • Advising and supervising departmental full-time and adjunct faculty
  • Ensuring that
    • Academic standards in departmental course offerings are maintained
    • Classroom teaching performance is monitored
    • On and off-campus professionalism and appropriate student-teacher relationships set forth in the faculty handbook are adhered to
    • Faculty adherence to academic calendar and exam schedule are followed
  • Conducting classroom visitation, reviewing evaluations and canvassing of students.
  • Writing an “end of year” evaluation for each departmental faculty member in cooperation with the academic director
  • Making recommendations to the Academic Director for faculty contract renewals
  • Working toward increasing enrollment, course offerings, academic scope and suitability to market opportunities
  • Initiating review and updating of entire program and specific courses-for content quality, innovations, marketability, etc.
  • Developing and implementing a program of faculty professional development
  • Developing campus and academic culture by organizing guest lectures, programs, workshops, etc.
  • Resource building thru acquisition of books, scholarships, establishing internships, etc.
  • Other responsibilities as requested by the Rector

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in relevant field and five years´ experience in cross cultural setting 
  • Demonstrated academic leadership experience
  • Ability to promote the University and attract both Thai and International students
  • Track record in teaching and research

 


Lecturers (Bangkok and Chaam)

Full time and adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate degree courses in:

Media Communications / Advertising / Marketing / Economics / Law /
Operations Management / Statistics / Finance / International Relations / Political Sciences / History / English Language / ESL

Responsibilities of Full time lecturers:

  • Teach eight (8) courses per year
  • Meet academic standards in departmental course offerings
  • Provide academic advising/tutorial support
  • Be involved in university life
  • Attend faculty meetings, graduation ceremony and other university functions
  • 32 hours/week and 4 days/week on  campus
  • Meet the required dates for submitting grades
  • Serve on Committees as required
  • Contribute to the research profile of the university

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate or Master´s degree in relevant field with 5 years´ experience
  • University teaching and industry experience preferred

 


Librarian (Chaam)

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate, develop and implement library policies, procedures and rules to support university goals and strategies
  • Ensure effective and appropriate management of library services for students and faculty
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures to safeguard assets (books, journals, computers, etc) placed in the library
  • Manage staff and library resources in a judicious and effective manner  

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Library Science with 5 years´ experience in a university library
  • Experience with academic research methods, electronic libraries
  • Good English communication and computing skills
  • Ability to assist and work with students and lecturers from diverse backgrounds

 


Human Resource Officer (Chaam)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the HR manager to execute all HR functions
  • Ensure good documentation, filing and security of all HR documents
  • Assist the HR manager in selection, orientation, development, appraisal, reward and separation of employees to support university goals and legal compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor´s degree in related field with 3 years experience in HRM
  • Ability to effectively plan and execute all HR functions and activities
  • Good interpersonal and English communication skills

 


Marketing and Recruiting Officer (Bangkok)

This position reports to the Recruitment Manager and assists in all Recruitment activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow up student contacts online
  • Assist with fairs, road shows and other recruiting activities in Thailand
  • Execute day-to-day administrative responsibilities
  • C oordinate new student arrivals, airport pick-ups, etc

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing
  • 2 or more years experience with recruitment or sales
  • Good English communication and computing skills

 


Student Accounts Officer (based in Chaam)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and send invoices to students and ensure timely collection of fees
  • Answer queries regarding fees and payment issues
  • Work closely with admissions, registrar, financial aid advisors and student services 
  • Prepare relevant reports for the department

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting
  • Experience with Accounting software(Peachtree or others)
  • Good English communication and computing skills

 


Student Services Coordinator (Chaam)

This position reports to the Director of Students Affairs and assists in the day to day tasks and activities of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute career and other student services
  • Maintain close relationship and communication with students
  • Communicate and coordinate various student services 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor´s degree
  • Minimum 2 years´ experience in an educational institution
  • Initiative, disciplined and service oriented
  • Good English communication and computing skills

 


Receptionist/Operator (Chaam)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the reception counter
  • Handle all calls, mails, parcels, etc
  • Receive guests and visitors
  • Execute other related tasks

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree
  • Good English communication and computing skills
  • 1-2 years´ relevant experience
  • Friendly, hospitable, efficient and service oriented
